Unfortunately, her heart murmur was still audible so we now have a referral to the cardiologist for evaluation. She also is seeing physical therapy this Friday to evaluate her hand-clenching and back-arching. I am convinced this is overkill but we would rather err on the side of caution.
Otherwise, Ava is doing perfectly! She is smiling and cooing and giggling at us. She loves when we make odd noises with our mouths and she tries to mimic them. She "talks" to us and I worry with the amount of shopping we have had to do lately her first words will be "charge it!" Our friend, Stevie Schoof, gave her an antique silver rattle at one of the baby showers and Ava loves it! Yesterday she was holding it but hadn't quite figured out that it was just the toy in her hand making the rattle- so she was shaking everything to make the noise...hands, legs, head. She also hasn't figured out how to let go of it when she's done- but she'll get there.
Ava is definitely getting stronger. She is able to hold her head up for longer periods of time and with more control. She also has been sleeping for 6-8 hours overnight for the last week or so- Hallelujah!!! We are heading to Naples with Michael for our first overnight trip this week. We will keep you posted on our adventure!
